Kids say the funniest things!!!
So, last night Ella Brooke said "mom i need to tell you something." She said, "Mom did you know that I am spanish?" I laughed under my breath thinking to myself.... this is gonnna be a good one! She said, "yes ma'am." " I am spanish see mom, like Dora." She then began to count in spanish. Well, I thought pretty cute, then she kept on counting. She counted to 20. Later to find out what she was trying to tell me all along was that she knew how to speak spanish. Funny girl!!! Then I put two and two together. A few weeks ago she was riding in the truck with my mother as they passed a bridge. There were some young black men fishing off of the bridge and this caught Ella Brooke's eye immediatly! ( she does't miss a thing) She said, "mimi i want you to look at those mexicos". As you can imagine, my mother about wrecked from getting so tickled. She said, " Ella Brooke, what did you say honey?" ...."I said look at those mexicos fishing off of that bridge." Now to put it together to find that she has been learning about different cultures, nationalities, and so on. Too funny!!!

Mothers and daughters are closest, when daughters become mothers. ~Author Unknown
You must become a parent to understand true love. I remember my mother telling me many times in my life " you'll understand one day". Well, now I do. There is no greater gift than being a mommy. I am so thankful for having such a great mother. I have no idea where I would be without her. And when I say that....I mean it.
What a beautiful Day!!!
Okay...so here is our Sunday. No other way to say it other than "What a beautiful Day!" The morning started off with the girls and I going to church for another wonderful service at Harvest. Great Message! I hate that Matt was unable to be with us. Unfortunatly he is working his favorite event of the year, The Womens Pro Classic Tennis Tournament. ( Just Joking) This would be his least favorite event of the year by far!!!
After Church, we at lunch with sweet mimi and uncle bubba. Here's a funny about that. After we ate our lunch we went to visit Poppy and spend the afternoon with the family. So, when we walked in poppy greeted us as usual with " how are my girls?" Then we proceeded to talk about our morning at church(what Ella Brooke made at church) and so on. Then, my dad asked where did ya'll eat lunch? Ella Brooke proceeds to tell him that she ate fried okra at Barney's!!! Laughing out loud...... we all said what? She said, "ooops, I mean Marty's". Still rolling..... We corrected her and said "you mean Larry's?" she replied yeah that's it Larry's! She is soooo Is crazy!!
Then, Ella Brooke wanted to go outside. She has always been an outside girl. She loves it!! She and I were sitting on the porch and she said "what a beautiful day mommy". I said yes it is sweet girl. She then proceeded to get her sidewalk chalk out and asked me to draw with her. I asked her what she wanted to draw and as you see below... we made a beautiful day! I love that sweet girl. She is precious!

Barefield Family Bonding!!!
Big sissy had to love on little sis every afternoon. Ella Brooke is such a great big sister. Allie just loves her!!!
Allie missed being outside so badly! She would look outside the window every day and watch the people walk by and the flag fly. Bless her little heart.
Well, when you have been shut up in a hospital room for as long and we have..... you gotta get creative! Since Allie wouldn't sleep in this awful prison for a bed.... Ella decided to make it her club house. As you can see.. she had a blanket draped over the top, her portable dvd player, and some snacks. What more could a girl need??? She thought is was AWESOME. The Drs. and Nurses would just crack up every time they entered the room. Hey..... you gotta do what ya gotta do.... get creative!!!!
To us, family means putting your arms around each other and being there. ~Barbara Bush
What on earth would we do without our family. Matt and I have relied on them so much during Allie's sickness. Matt's mother and my mother ROCK! They washed clothes, brought dinners, snack foods, and helped out in a tremendous way my Ella Brooke. Ella Brooke is usually real flexible, she will just go wherever and do whatever. But she likes for all of us to be together when we are doing whatever.... I am very proud of her. I know the past two weeks have been really hard on her with mommy and daddy both staying at the hospital so much. She has been so sweet! Thanks to all of our friends and family for the support and prayers. We love you and are forever grateful!!!

Update on Ella Brooke and her Birmingham Appointment
What can I say..... Ella Brooke did way better than I would have on Thursday with her procedure. The procedure was able you reveal another defect in her soft palate of about 2cm big. We will be having surgery on June 30th to repair this. They have given us 3 surgery options and at this point we are still weighing things out. I trust Dr. Grant. He has prepared us well up to now and will continue to help us in making the right choices for Ella Brooke. I can't say enough nice things about him and his staff. The entire Cleft Palate Team is AWESOME! Looking forward to getting this behind us and seeing the outcome....... These are some of my favorite and most recent pictures of her from this past week. She is a mess!!!!
Pray for Allie!!!!
Pray for my little Allie Claire. We are not certain of what is really going on with her at this point. She was admitted yesterday afternoon and has made a little improvement. They have ruled out spinal meningitis, viral and bacteria! What a prayer answered! Many other things have been ruled out also.... Still waiting on more results though. Just not sure of what has caused her wbc count to elevate so. Please pray that she will continue to feel better each day and that we will gert some answers soon. I will update again later on when we know something else.
