Children will not remember you for the material things you provided, but for the feeling that you cherished them.

So, Matt and I are taking this awesome 6 week bible study called "Parenting the Early Years". WOW! Is all I can say about the things that God has been revealing to Matt and I on what kind of parents we want our children to remember us as. This bible study is geared to teach you the 12 traits and characteristics that you want your children to remember you for. You want your children to value these things about you and know how loved they truly are by you. One of my favorite lessons so far was about not buying things for your kids just to get them to be good somewhere in public. This is so me!!! The basic moral of this lesson is that your children should act good and know how to act just because it is the right thing to do. You don't always have to reward them for it. In a nutshell, this class has taught me and is still teaching me many things. Most of all this......That I am so blessed to be a wife and a mommy and that God continues to show his Patience, Love and Grace in helping me to understand how to be better at both of these. The less we see with our eyes, the more we see with our hearts!

Things that Kids say.....

Mommy........Stop anoring me. The other day(at daycare) I was in a hurry to get the girls in the car b/c it was freezing! That didn't seem to bother Ella Brooke any. She did her usual routine.....Mommy can I walk real fast down the ramp while you walk down the steps with Allie? I told her sure. Still trying to get down the steps and into the car, Ella continued to say watch me mommy.... did you see that?? Hey mommy....Did you see that? I guess I was sort of ignoring her, but I was trying to hurry and was not intentionaly ignoring her. After all I have only made a big deal about her silly walk down that ramp about 100 times. All of a sudden she yelled, "Mommy, stop anoring me". Anoring ( was suppose to be ignoring) Well, you guessed it. She got my attention. Too funny.... She is learning to use lots of big words right now.
