First surgery......Second Surgery

Ella Brooke's Surgery

Thanks to all of our family and friends for the prayers and checking up in Miss Priss. Ella Brooke did great with her surgery. The surgery lasted about 2hours. The longest process was getting the fat from her belly and then it had to go thru a cleaning process. Matt and I were allowed to go to the recovery room and sit by her bed as she waited for a room. She didn't want to eat or talk there for a bit. Her throat was a little dry and sore. We finally got her to sip on some juice. She quickly realized that she didn't have her panties on. That upset her the most I think. She got very upset. " They are pink and have watermelons on them" is what she said. Too funny! We got in a room about 2:30 that afternoon and by 9:00pm she was eating and drinking. To be honest, she was bouncing off the wall!!! Coming off the drugs. Hee! Hee! Dr. Grant came by to see us early the next morning and he was pleased with her belly and mouth. We could tell and immediate difference in her sounds. She was less nasal and where she use to wrinkle her nose, she was no longer doing that. We actually have not seen that yet. I still hear nasal sounds, but it is definatly reduced. Dr. G said it could be where we may need to inject a little more fat later. We return to Childrens on August 5th to meet with the speech team and Dr. G.

I am not going to bed mommy, I wanna play!!!

This little stinker was not ready for bedtime! She was literally bouncing on the bed. She is sitting really well on her own now and loves to rock. Especially on the bed. She has figured out how to bounce on her bottom. Too funny! In this picture I asked her to show me her pretty teeth. As you can see she did! She is proud of those things! Everything goes to the mouth! I just love a chunky naked baby! Don't you?

She won't take her eyes off of her daddy.

My sweet little Allie is 7 months old!

Beach Trip with some old friends.....

Thank you to my sweet hubby for treating me to a beach trip with some old friends. We had a blast. Matt and I went down on Thurdsay afternoon and everyone else came down late Friday. Our trip was a early birthday to me since Ella Brooke's surgery is the week of my birthday in July. We had a great time! Thank you Matt!
Shopping at Pier Park with Hailey and Marty. Who knew shopping would be so much fun?

Erin has become one of my best friends. I don't get to talk with her as much as I would like, but when we do get together we pick back up right where we left off. She is too funny!!!!

Seth treated me to a birthday dinner at Guy Harvey. It was delicious!

Marty and Hailey are always a blast to hang out with. This is such a good picture of them!

Matt and I have been looking at some house plans. So we brought the ones with like to show Seth and Erin. Seth is a contractor so we wanted his advise on everything.

Matt and Marty! Enough Said!!!!!

Poor Erin!!!

Hanging out with the Goree's

Erin is helping me sell tickets for Lindsey's benefit and she also had a list of more sponsors to contact. jWe stopped by just to get sponsor info and to give her more tickets to sell and then..... we got stuck there for a little while. A really bad storm came so we decided to stay put for a few minutes until it passed. Cohen and Ella Brooke decided they need a little snack, so they finished off the remains of Cohen's bday cake. So yummy Cohen wouldn't even look up for a picture.

Saturday Birthday Fun!!!

Happy Birthday Cohen! I can't believe he is 3 years old!! Isn't it funny how looking at you own children can take you back to a specific moment in your childhhood? Well, Cohen's daddy ( Seth) and I go waaaaay back! As a matter of fact our whole family does. You see, their family use to be our back door neighbors. Boy did we use to have some fun. We use to drag out our pools and play all day in them and our sandboxes. As you can tell, swimming pools have come along way since then!!! Many of my favorite childhood memories are those of which I shared with the Goree kids. They were my other family and I hope our kids turn out feeling the same way about each other.
Cohen got the coolest bug inspector kit!!!
Girl talk!

Little Cohen looks just like his daddy did at that age!!! Scary!!!!

Fun in the sun!!!

Best idea!!! Erin got an icecream cake from Dairy Queen. She scooped the cake out and put it into waffle cones.!!! Yummy as you can tell!

My little daredevil wanting to go "up" the slide instead of "down"! As usual!!!

Best seat in the house!

Taking a break for a cool treat.

" Cohen has the best pool ever Mommy"

Two little cuties sitting in their bumbos. We cracke up! Lilly as you can see is a little bity thing. There is only 4 weeks difference between the two girls. When I went to get Allie out of her seat, her body was molded to it. The seat came with her. I love my little Chunky Monkey!!!

Sorry that this is sideways!!! I could not get it to turn upright. But it was too funny to not put on my blog. Look at this cute little booty!!! We were heading to gymnastics and her favorite cartoon "Phineas and Ferb" was on. We couldn't leave for gymnastics until it was over. As you can tell, she put on quite a show!!!

Special Day for some special people!!!

Peace, Love and Special Olympics says it all!
She was so proud of Uncle Bubba! Our Silver Medal Champions!!! Take a picture of me mommy!!

Uncle Bubba getting his Gold Medal!!!

Brad, Ludie and Adam
We went to Troy this past weekend to watch and celebrate with the Special Olympians of Alabama!!! We had a blast. Uncle Bubba competed this year in golf. Brad has only been playing golf for 1 year and WOW is he good!!! He just amazes us. He went on to win a Silver medal in his division. The whole dothan team ended up with silver medals in their divisions. As you can see Ella and Allie had a great time as well. Ella really enjoyed playing the games at "Olympic Town".

Kids say the funniest things!!!

So, last night Ella Brooke said "mom i need to tell you something." She said, "Mom did you know that I am spanish?" I laughed under my breath thinking to myself.... this is gonnna be a good one! She said, "yes ma'am." " I am spanish see mom, like Dora." She then began to count in spanish. Well, I thought pretty cute, then she kept on counting. She counted to 20. Later to find out what she was trying to tell me all along was that she knew how to speak spanish. Funny girl!!! Then I put two and two together. A few weeks ago she was riding in the truck with my mother as they passed a bridge. There were some young black men fishing off of the bridge and this caught Ella Brooke's eye immediatly! ( she does't miss a thing) She said, "mimi i want you to look at those mexicos". As you can imagine, my mother about wrecked from getting so tickled. She said, " Ella Brooke, what did you say honey?" ...."I said look at those mexicos fishing off of that bridge." Now to put it together to find that she has been learning about different cultures, nationalities, and so on. Too funny!!!

Mothers and daughters are closest, when daughters become mothers. ~Author Unknown

You must become a parent to understand true love. I remember my mother telling me many times in my life " you'll understand one day". Well, now I do. There is no greater gift than being a mommy. I am so thankful for having such a great mother. I have no idea where I would be without her. And when I say that....I mean it.
